PikRow — Privacy Policy

PikRow is a browser extension that lets you highlight text on web pages, collect it, and send it to an AI chat as a single prompt. This policy explains what the extension stores and what it does not.

The short version

PikRow has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Everything you save stays on your own computer. We cannot see your highlights, the pages you visit, or anything else you do in your browser.

What PikRow stores

The following is saved locally through the browser's own extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on the device where you use PikRow:

• The text you highlight or copy into PikRow, and any notes you add to it
• The address, page title and site icon of the page a highlight came from, so a saved card can show and reopen its source
• Enough position information to draw your highlight back onto the page
• Your own settings: colors, labels, AI commands, prompt templates, categories and keyboard shortcuts

What PikRow does not do

• It does not send your data to us or to any third party. There is no PikRow server to send it to.
• It does not track your browsing history, and it does not record pages you visit unless you highlight something on them yourself.
• It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools of any kind.
• It does not sell, rent or share your data. Ever.
• It does not ask for an account, an email address or any payment information.

When text leaves your computer

PikRow can place the text you collected into the input box of an AI chat site you choose, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, in a tab you have open. This happens only when you ask for it. Once you send that prompt, the text is handled by that service under its own privacy policy, not ours. PikRow itself is not affiliated with any of those services.

Site access

PikRow needs permission to run on any site, because you may want to highlight text on any site. It uses that access only to read the text you select, to draw your highlights back onto the page, and to place your prompt into the input box of an AI chat site you choose. Nothing is collected in the background.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual cards, empty the cart, or clear your archive from the extension itself. Removing PikRow from your browser deletes everything it stored. You can also export your cards to a Markdown file at any time, free of charge, so your data is never locked inside the extension.

Children

PikRow is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date above. If a future version of PikRow ever starts transmitting data off your device, that will be described here before the feature ships.
